The Capitol Area Council has dedicated this tournament in honor of Bruce Walcutt for his love of Scouting, and the outdoors. He may be best known as a co-founder of the famous County Line restaurant chain, but his contributions to Scouting will forever stand out. Bruce's impact reached everyone from young people in Scout units, to parents and volunteers, to members of the Council's Executive Board. Bruce served as Council President in 2003 and was always on hand to assist. His concern went beyond Scouting; he wanted the best for everyone in the community.

Bruce's leadership as Council President also saw the creation of the council's Properties Master Plan. This included the plans for everything from a new council service center to better serve Scouting's thousands of parents and adult volunteers - to the construction of the new Cub World outdoor program facility at the LCRA Lost Pines Scout Reservation in Bastrop. The vision contained in that plan guarantees that Bruce will continue to help kids and their families for decades to come.
