Center for Autism and Related Disorders to Host Colorado Autism Conference Offering Parents Solutions for Effective Autism Treatment
The Center for Autism and Related Disorders will host the first of its kind Colorado Autism Conference in Denver on Saturday, October 8, 2011 for parents, practitioners and students.

(CARD), the world's largest autism treatment center that provides state-of-the art therapy, will host the CARD Colorado Autism Conference on Saturday, October 8, 2011 from 8 am-5 pm at the University of Denver, located at 2000 East Asbury Avenue, in Denver. The conference is free for all attendees, including parents, educators, medical and behavioral practitioners, researchers, and students.
According to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, 1 in 110 children in America is diagnosed with an autism spectrum disorder, making it more common than childhood cancer, juvenile diabetes and pediatric AIDS combined. The objective of the conference is to provide attendees with information on the most effective autism interventions, to give attendees strategic methods that address challenging behaviors and to showcase hands-on, groundbreaking technology used to assess and treat developmental disorders.
Featured speakers include keynote speaker and CARD Executive Director Dr. Doreen Granpeesheh on "Creating a Comprehensive and Individualized Treatment Program for a Child with Autism Spectrum Disorders", Dr. Jonathan Tarbox on "Practical Solutions for Addressing Challenging Behaviors", Dr. Adel Najdowski on "Skills: A Web-based Tool for Effectively Treating Children with Autism Spectrum Disorders", autism advocate Joe Mohs who has recovered from autism, and Bryce Miler on "Colorado Autism Insurance." A question and answer session with the featured speakers will follow the series of workshops.
