  • (1888PressRelease) November 19, 2012 - Celebrity Makeup Artist Brandy Gomez-Duplessis recently relocated to Danbury, CT on the border of Brookfield in the Candlewood Lake Community. She's been seen riding the Metro-North train to New York every day in her classic black industrial glam chic garb and sleek black Tumi makeup kit. "It's a little further than Norwalk, CT where I moved from, but a home is worth the extra miles. I spend my commute tweeting, listening to music, watching fashion videos, and answering emails", says Gomez-Duplessis.

The timing for moving to Danbury, Connecticut wasn't the best, on October 28th Gomez-Duplessis and her family were moving into their home the day Super-Storm Sandy was due to make landfall. With caution due to not being new to hurricanes, Gomez-Duplessis decided to go forward with their move. Gomez-Duplessis was in New Orleans in 2005 for Hurricane Katrina, so she knows what it's like to lose it all. Spending her first week in her new home with no power, no heat, a fallen tree on the house, no phone service but no flooding, she felt blessed.

"Now, the Nor'easter was a challenge! I was in the middle of that. I had a photo shoot that didn't wrap until 6pm in Weehawken, New Jersey. It took me 6.5 hours to get home. I detoured so many times, taking a shuttle, then train, then car. It was a scary mess", she laughs. Gomez-Duplessis said she fell in love with Danbury when she came to the area for a bride who was getting married at The Candlewood Inn. After seeing the spectacular view of the lake she flirted with the idea that she wanted to make this home. "Being able to see the lake year round from my home is worth the commute", Gomez-Duplessis said.

Gomez-Duplessis began her week doing makeup at Glamour Magazine "Women of The Year" awards at Carnegie Hall. She ended her week doing makeup for a music video with alternative rock group, Imagine Dragons in Old Bethpage, NY. Her next stop will be at MTV networks for a special fashion show. She will be the key makeup artist, creating the makeup look for the entire show.

She will then work an assignment with L'OREAL Paris USA for "Women of Worth", an event she's excited to be a part of. Her work can also be seen on Project Runway All-Stars 2 airing now on Lifetime. Gomez-Duplessis says "The early call times for working on her favorite show are tough, but being able to do makeup on a show that I'm obsessed with, 4am is like 4pm" she states, smiling.

Being a new girl is actually not bad, as I look forward to meeting and doing glamxurious makeup on the ladies. During wedding season, which is my favorite, I'm sure I'll get hire to do makeup for weddings. This is when I'll meet the ladies in Danbury, Brookfield, New Milford, Sherman, and New Fairfield. Brides who love glam and beauty makeup seem to find me regardless where I am.
