Celebrating Earth Day By Planting Trees In Nehru Place, New Delhi

  • (1888PressRelease) April 22, 2016 - This Earth day, 22nd April 2016, The Climate Reality Project (India Chapter) - an NGO founded by Al Gore, Former Vice President of USA; Earth Day Network and Paharpur Business Centre, are coming together to celebrate Earth Day by organizing a Tree Plantation Ceremony at Nehru Place Greens, New Delhi.

    This event will see the presence of more than 50 delegates (including Country Ambassadors) representing over 35 countries;prominent leaders from United Nations;Climate Change Leaders; and various leading organizations and corporates, to celebrate the signing ceremony of Paris Agreement on Climate Change.

    To make this day special, TCRP-India, PBC and EDN are jointly organizing a tree plantation ceremony in association with various embassies, as an epitome of support for the UN Assembly.

    "This event is an expression of solidarity, to celebrate a new direction for the planet and for the leaders to show their commitment and support for People, Planet, Prosperity and Peace" said Aditya Pundir, Country Manager, The Climate Reality Project.

    Total presence will of 50+ Delegates from over 35 countries have confirmed (including USA, China, Japan, UK, Mexico, EU, Netherlands, and more) and Heads and senior officials from the organizations of International repute like UNESCO, UNGC, commerce chambers, bi-lateral chambers, corporate, and government sectors. Apart this, some of the school children to plant a tree, as a sign of taking a step forward to build a sustainable future for our next generation

    About the event:
    Aim is to plant around 200 tree saplings at Nehru Place Greens Park.

    It is Public Park owned by the Delhi Development Authority, Government of India. Previously a slum, the area was converted into a park by Paharpur Business Centre in the mid 90's.

    The event will start at 7:45 am on 22nd April 2016 and will last for an hour, with a group photo session at the end, delivering a message of hope for prosperous and healthy future of the planet.
