  • Greenville, NC (1888PressRelease) June 22, 2013 - At Carolina Colours, the future's so bright the residents now need shades - to wear at their new pool complex. On Friday, May 31 the community homeowners celebrated the opening of the pool, a $750,000 complex that was completed as a result of Preston Development Company's investment in the community.

"Our community celebrated the opening of summer with a pool party, something we've been looking forward to for a number of years. Our recent partnership with Preston Development Company and an improving housing market are fueling this exciting momentum at Carolina Colours," says Ken Kirkman, owner of Carolina Creek LLC. "This, combined with the world-class golf course and clubhouse mean our residents have many opportunities to socialize, exercise and enjoy the beauty of New Bern, NC - recently named one of the top 10 U.S. boating towns."

Kirkman, Preston Development and the Carolina Colours Community held another event to celebrate growth and activity at the community. A pool grand opening and ribbon cutting took place June 19th. Representatives from Preston Development, Kirkman, local dignitaries and real estate professionals officially opened the pool and celebrated the future at Carolina Colours.

"This is evidence of the strong partnership Preston Development and Kirkman are known for," says Julian "Bubba" Rawl, Preston Development Company. "With a debt-free community and amenities package nearly complete, the community is poised to grow as the market continues to improve. We're planning a tennis complex next year and Swain & Associates is leading the development of a commercial center at the community as well.
