  • (1888PressRelease) October 03, 2012 - FIRESTONE, CO - CARBON VALLEY HEATING AND AIR is looking for the oldest furnace in the CARBON VALLEY area and will give its owner a new furnace free as part of an effort to highlight the potential for energy savings from new heating equipment.

CARBON VALLEY HEATING AND AIR wants to find the oldest furnace and replace it with a free furnace to show homeowners how much energy savings is possible from a heating system upgrade.

"We Felt this contest was a good way to draw attention to the potential to save a lot of money by upgrading an old system," said Josh Robertson from CARBON VALLEY HEATING AND AIR. "There are some very old heating systems around town and a lot of money is wasted. Plus higher efficient furnaces decrease pollution substantially"

According to ROBERTSON, any furnace more than 10 years old is a ripe candidate for replacement, especially if the efficiency was 80% or less when new. He also pointed out the average life expectancy of a gas furnace is 12 years. As mechanical equipment ages, it's performance degrades and becomes less efficient.

All homeowners are encouraged to enter, there will be prizes for runner ups! CV-HVAC is planning on giving away $300 Gift Certificates to all runner ups to use towards a new high efficiency furnace. Homeowners can complete CARBON VALLEY HEATING AND AIR'S online entry form found on their website at www., or to drop by the booth at the FIRESTONE FALL FESTIVAL and fill out an entry in person. Entries will be checked for age and the winner will selected by October 26, 2012.
