California Paints(R) Introduces Color Challenge for Interior Designers

  • (1888PressRelease) March 11, 2011 - Andover, MA -- California Paints is giving interior designers the opportunity to design and submit the best interior and exterior color schemes for their 2010 Color Challenge. The winning color combinations and designers will be featured and published in California Paints exclusive 2011 interior and exterior color cards. Additional expanded biographies of all selected designers will also be showcased on the company's website.

    The first 300 interior designers to participate in the California Paints Color Challenge will be receiving California Paints' new portable Designer Kit. This ideal kit features California Paints' Perfect Palette collection of 1696 colors in nine single color chip decks and a counter album. The kit also houses one Historic Colors of America and one 20th CenturyTM Colors of America single chip fan deck.

    California Paints will be looking for interior designers to submit interior and exterior paint color combinations along with photos, inspirations, and their professional design history. All combinations will be reviewed by a panel of judges representing the best in color and paint. Five interior and five exterior color combinations of three colors each will be allowed for submission per designer. Deadline for California Paints Color Challenge submissions is November 1, 2010. Submissions will be accepted online at their website.

    California Paints has partnered with a panel of respected leaders in the world of both color and paint for their Color Challenge. Judges include Jacqueline Nash, managing director and founder of the color and trend forecasting company Global Color Research Limited - publishers of The Mix, a color consulting and trend forecasting publication for the interiors and fashion industries; Patricia Verlodt, noted designer of paint company palettes, interior and exterior building products and a broad range of consumer products, past president of The Color Marketing Group (CMG) and current CMG senior chair holder; Ron Trudeau, certified interior designer, color designer, new construction specialist, and remodeling specialist currently employed at Universal Décor and Nashua Wallpaper Co.; Mark Woodman, North America's voice for Global Color Research, owner of Mark Woodman Design & Color, and incoming President, CMG; Shelby S. Hicks, NCIDQ cert # 016830 Professional Interior Designer for over twenty years and instructor of Interior Design as an Adjunct Faculty Member, at Manchester Community College.
