  • (1888PressRelease) April 14, 2011 - Andover, MA - A collection of professionally designed paint color schemes utilizing the color expertise of designers will soon be available to all consumers. California Paints gave interior designers and color stylists the opportunity to design and submit the best interior and exterior color schemes for their 2010 Color Challenge. The winning color combinations and designers have been selected and will be featured and published in California Paints' exclusive 2011 interior and exterior color cards.

California Paints received an overwhelming response for their first Color Challenge. Each challenge participant received California Paints color tools to create their schemes and the first 300 submissions received California Paints' new portable designer kit. The paint company is known for offering the industry's most authentic and documented historic color collection. California's Perfect Palette® color system has also been voted the #1 color palette by interior designers and contains a wider range of usable colors previously neglected by competitive palettes.

"The goal of the California Paints Color Challenge was to expose designers to our color palettes and color tools," says Maryellen Mantyla, California Paints' Director of Marketing. "We are so pleased with the response from the design community. The result of the Challenge is a win-win for everyone. New relationships, new color perspectives, and a unique way for consumers to be exposed to professionally designed interior and exterior color schemes."

The Color Challenge submission process ended in November 2010. Each combination was reviewed by a panel of judges representing the best in color and paint. Each judge determined how sellable, creative, and trend forward each color scheme was. The judges were also asked to rate each combination's color balance, broad application, and curb appeal for exterior schemes.

A total of 31 designers were selected as winners of the Color Challenge. Not only will each winner's color combination be showcased in California Paints' interior or exterior color cards, but additional expanded biographies of all featured designers will also be showcased on the company's website. The online gallery will include each designer's biography, color scheme and inspiration, and photos. The goal of this gallery is for paint customers to view the color schemes and feel like they know the inspiration behind the colors as if working with their own personal designer.

California Paints 2011 interior and exterior color cards and online gallery will be available in April 2011.
