Bulky Boy wanted a model that would represent their real-life customers, not a pretty boy from a professional modeling agency. Looking for more brawn than beauty, the companyturned to social media and launched a photo contest on Facebook.

    The contest attracted over 200 entries. The company chose 27 finalists and their Facebook Fans voted for their favorites over several weeks. "We had a lot of fun seeing all the great photos of real life Bulky Boys in action," stated Bulky Boy President, Kit Kantner. "There were guys pulling monster trucks, lifting telephone poles, throwing huge tires, cage fighting and more. The kinds of photos we got said a lot about who our customers are," Kantner continued.

    The votes have been tallied and today, Bulky Boy is pleased to announce that the winner and next Bulky Boy model will be musician,Dan Acosta.

    Dan Acosta is a singer, songwriter and guitarist for melodic rock band "Axis Unknown." Dan rocks from his hometown of Huntington Station, New York. Dan is 40 years old and definitely not a typical model. He is a bulky, size 2XL, which equates to a 2-neck roll on the Bulky Boy size chart. With his shaved head, massive muscles and double neck rolls, he very closely resembles the distinctive, Bulky Boy icon that is integral to every Bulky Boy t-shirt design.

    Dan is a big guy with big dreams. Eighteen years in the making, Dan has poured his blood, sweat and sometimes, tears into making his band successful. He has learned from the best about what it takes to be a performer in this business. Dan and his band, Axis Unknown, have shared the stage with many notable performers and legends of Rock and Roll.He has numerous songs copyrighted and always has original music in development. He also owns GDA Media Group, a music and promotional company.

    What makes Acosta a Bulky Boy? In addition to being a professional musician, Acosta is developing his skills in the ring. Dan is staying in shape by working along side his friend and pro-wrestler, Bad Boy Rocky Shore at his Ringside Pro-Wrestling Training School. The school is focused on helping it's students become pro-wrestlers, managers or referees.

"My friends always teased me about the "hotdog rolls" on my neck, so when I saw the Bulky Boy logo on Facebook, I thought, hey I look like that guy," said Acosta.
