  • (1888PressRelease) May 18, 2015 - If you are zealous to immigrate to Canada and had followed the Canadian Government's launch of new Express Entry Selection System for Canadian Immigration, you must be very well familiar with rules and procedures governing the system. Moving further in this direction, the government of British Columbia has announced a temporary but immediate 90-days halt on any new application to the most categories of British Columbia Provincial Nominee Program (BCPNP) for Canadian immigration. The government has announced this pause to introduce a more organised application process and more advanced program criteria.

    New applications will be accepted on July, 2015. But the applications which were already in BCPNP application system before March 31, 2015 will continue to be processed during pause period.

    Mr. Shirley Bond said that new streamlined application process will help the government to attract better skilled workers and qualified entrepreneurs.

    PNP will continue to accept applications under the following categories even during the moratorium:
    ->All Express Entry British Columbia categories including:
    Express Entry British Columbia- Skilled Worker
    Express Entry British Columbia- Healthcare Professional
    Express Entry British Columbia- International Graduates
    Express Entry British Columbia- International Post Graduates

    ->Skilled Immigration:
    Health Care Professional
    Northeast Pilot Project

    During the pause, no applications, apart from those mentioned above, would be entertained under Skill Immigration Categories or Business Immigration Stream.

    This halt on new applications will allow the PNP to deal with a backlog in the applications. During the halt, the program's stakeholders will be engaged to redesign an improvised program that would meet British Columbia's skilled labor needs in a better way in a diverse and growing economy. The redesigned program will make PNP able to align British Columbian labor market and economic development priorities with annual nomination allocation and to utilize it to keep the economy diverse, strong and growing.
