On July 10th, the Chinese Eye Health Research Institute of Brieye has officially launched, and Professor Jian Ge was invited as the chief scientist of the Eye Health Research Institute. Professor Jian Ge is the former director of the Ophthalmic Center of Sun Yat-sen University, the former director of the Chinese Key Laboratory of Ophthalmology, the chief scientist of the Chinese 973 Program for promoting science and research development, the honorary director of the Ophthalmology Branch of the Chinese Medical Association, the deputy director of the Ophthalmology Branch of the Chinese Medical Doctor Association, the former leader of the Glaucoma Group of the Chinese Ophthalmological Society, the director of the Guangdong Provincial Ophthalmological Physicians Association, and the executive director of the World Glaucoma Association.
He has been engaged in ophthalmology clinical practice and research for more than 30 years, achieving remarkable achievements in the prevention and treatment of myopia, glaucoma, cataracts, and difficult glaucoma, as well as stem cell research. The team led by him has successively received funding from programs such as the 973 Program and the 863 Program, and has won more than ten awards, including the National Science and Technology Progress Award (Second Class), and the Ministry of Education and Guangdong Provincial Science and Technology Progress Award (First Class).
