  • Miami, FL (1888PressRelease) October 04, 2012 - Hampton Inn & Suites Miami Brickell-Downtown, a Miami hotel managed by Brazil native Eduardo Chapoval, has risen through the rankings to become the top-ranked hotel in Miami on TripAdvisor.com, the world's largest travel website. The boutique-style Hampton Inn & Suites, which opened in late 2011, has held the top spot among 130 Miami-area hotels for six consecutive months, with the ranking based entirely on guest reviews.

The news comes as Brazil surpasses Canada to become Miami's top international market, with more than 634,000 overnight stays in the past year, according to the Greater Miami Convention and Visitors Bureau.

"Just as Brazil has emerged to become Miami's top feeder market, the country is also our hotel's top source of international guests," says Eduardo Chapoval, General Manager of the Hampton Inn & Suites Miami Brickell-Downtown. "Brazilian guests are also contributing to our TripAdvisor ratings, accounting for the second largest source of visits to our ranking page."

Mr. Chapoval is a native of Olinda, Brazil and received his degree in hotel management from Estacio University in Rio de Janeiro. He has since worked at the Rio Palace and Rio Atlantica Hotels in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil and held several positions with Hilton Hotels. He has managed a number of the Hampton Inn & Suites Miami Brickell-Downtown's sister properties over the past 17 years.

"The Hampton Inn & Suites brand, part of the Hilton family, is built on exceptional service and value-added amenities that make travel more enjoyable and affordable," added Mr. Chapoval. "The Hampton Inn & Suites Miami Brickell-Downtown offers all of this and more. Between our Portuguese-speaking managers and supervisors, our proximity to the Brazilian Consulate, our location in the heart of downtown, and our access to Miami's finest shopping and entertainment attractions, it's no wonder why we are the hotel of choice for Brazilian visitors."

The Hampton Inn & Suites is located within walking distance to several public transit systems - with Metromover and Metrorail stations less than a block away. Guests also have direct train access to and from Miami International Airport with the new AirportLink system.

The eco-friendly hotel has been awarded LEED Silver certification by the U.S. Green Building Council (USGBC), becoming the first LEED certified hotel within the City of Miami. LEED (Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design) is the preeminent program for the design, construction and operation of high performance green buildings in the U.S. Sustainable elements include a 136,000 liter cistern that harvests rainwater for use in irrigation purposes and for washing down exterior decking and walkways, an in-room energy management system, electric vehicle charging stations, preferred parking spaces for hybrid and electric cars, an ozone laundry system that reduces the consumption of water, energy and cleaning chemicals, Energy Star-qualified compact fluorescent lights (CFLs) and LED lighting, which lower energy consumption by 18%, low-flow water fixtures, dual flush toilets, and motion-activated faucets that reduce water usage by more than 40%, occupancy sensors to control lights in public places and work areas, biodegradable plates, cups and tableware used at the breakfast area and environmentally safe, non-toxic cleaning agents for housekeeping staff.

Hotel amenities include a rooftop pool/spa deck; full-service lobby/pool bar; state-of-the-art fitness facility; 24-business center featuring multiple touch-screen computers and printers; and 3,800 square feet of meeting and event space.
