  • Los Angeles-Long Beach, CA (1888PressRelease) May 24, 2018 - Brand New Day, a Medicare Advantage health plan serving 12 California counties, has entered into a provider agreement with Golden Shore Medical Group (formerly Molina Medical Group), operator of 17 California clinics. Effective June 1, the agreement allows Brand New Day’s members residing in Los Angeles, San Bernardino and Riverside counties to select Golden Shore Medical Group providers.

“We are delighted to establish this agreement with Golden Shore Medical Group as their mission of providing excellent care combined with their overall dedication to their patients parallels our own goals,” said Brand New Day Executive Vice President Jay B. Davis. “It’s interesting to note that our families — the Molinas and the Davises — share a long, storied history with both patriarchs having been pioneers in the managed care arena and the family's legacy of providing affordable, quality care for the communities we serve continues.”

Added J. Mario Molina, M.D., who founded Golden Shore Medical Group last year, “We are delighted to join forces with Brand New Day and offering its members, many of whom are from underserved communities, with quality healthcare. Our families, who have known and respected each other for more than three decades, share a legacy of bettering the overall communities we tend to — a tenet that will serve as the foundation as we enter into this new partnership.”

Howard Davis, who founded Brand New Day’s parent company, Universal Care, added, “Dr. Mario Molina’s father, the late Dr. C. David Molina, was someone I respected immensely and, together, we helped shape the healthcare industry during a tumultuous time. To learn that our families are picking up the mantle and working to continue improving this constantly evolving industry brings me great satisfaction.”
