Bowtie Kids – Expands Board With New Members: Bowtie Kids expands as they continue on the path to courage
            
            	
            
            
             
 Fort Lauderdale, FL, February 28, 2021 – Bowtie Kids (BTK) is excited to expand their board of directors, adding nine new members who will bring diverse expertise and insight to their work. All board members were selected based on their aligned values and desire to support the mission, vision and purpose of Bowtie Kids. 
  
            
			- Fort Lauderdale, FL (1888PressRelease) March 10, 2021 - Bowtie Kids (BTK) is excited to expand their board of  directors, adding nine new members who will bring diverse expertise and insight to their work. All board  members were selected based on their aligned values and desire to support the mission, vision and  purpose of Bowtie Kids.  
The new BTK board members officially began their service on February 15,2021 after being nominated and  approved in January. They can serve a maximum of one 2-year term before being re-evaluated for another  term.  
“The purpose of Bowtie Kids is to to increase the social and emotional learning capacity of children  and families impacted by chronic pain to reduce the levels of anxiety, depression, isolation, poor  self-concept, poor self-expression, opioid addiction and rates of suicide through interactive and  experiential learning. Our theme for 2021 is The Path To Courage, and we are beyond excited to  welcome this amazing group of dynamic leaders to the BTK family, and on our journey” stated  Karen Prescod, Bowtie Kids CEO & Founder.  
The nine newly appointed board members are: 
● Pia Althea Clarke, dental office manager at Dr. Smith’s Orthodontic Services has joined the board  as Co-chair of the Events & Fundraising committee. Ms. Clarke wishes to apply her background in  event planning to the duties and responsibilities that are required to ensure that Bowtie Kids has  another year, full of successful events.  
● William Fuller, manager at TD Bank has joined the board as Co-chair of the Events & Fundraising  committee. Being a part of other non-profit boards in the community, Mr. Fuller’s passion and  commitment along with his own personal chronic pain experience, makes him a great fit for BTK. 
● Dr. Mary Nochimson, practicing chiropractor at the West Broward Urgent Care facility has joined  the board as Co-chair of the Events & Fundraising committee. Dr. Nochimson’s extensive  background in working with the human body through chiropractic, craniosacral and massage, she  will provide her committee with the extensive resources she has access to. 
Miriam Hernandez, senior student at The University of South Florida has accepted the role of PR  & Marketing Co-chair. Ms. Hernandez was a part of the Bowtie Kids internship program in 2020,  where she held the PR & Marketing intern lead position. There she realized she had a passion for  creating content for Bowtie Kids and was inspired by the cause to contribute her efforts to the  growth of BTK. That inspiration led to her new position on the board. 
● Curdijah Baptiste, a recent graduate from Nova Southeastern University, with a Bachelor’s  degree in Marketing has joined the board as Co-chair of the PR & Marketing Committee. Ms.  Baptiste was also a part of the Bowtie Kids internship program in 2020. At the end of her internship  she was asked to stay on with BTK in a new role as a board member. She hopes to hone her  marketing skills even further with Bowtie Kids as she pursues a Master’s degree in Human  Resources.  
● Joinecy Filus, volunteer nurse and dedicated mother of four has joined the board as Co-chair of  the Community Engagement Committee. As Mrs. Filus transitions into a Nurse Practitioner to impact  more lives in a positive way, she is serving different communities which includes Bowtie Kids. We  know that her giving spirit and impeccable drive will be an asset to the board.  
● Renee Peterson, Captain at Broward Sheriff’s Office has joined the board as Co-chair of the  Community Engagement Committee. Through her extensive career in the Criminal Justice field, Ms.  Peterson has become an effective communicator with dynamic presentation and leadership skills,  having developed successful working relationships with contemporaries and staff at all levels her  leadership will surely be an asset to this committee.  
● Natacha Abreu, International Sales and Business Leader has joined the board as Co-chair of the  Community Engagement Committee. Ms. Abreu's current focus is in graphic arts printing but also  holds several Presidents Club and Achievement Awards. She is a vocal proponent of Women's  Equality in the workplace and holds a belief that helping others believe in their maximum potential  helps each of us thrive. BTK welcomes her to the board as we reach to expand our fullest potential.  
● Jennifer Kovacs, Mental Health Therapist has joined the board and will lend her experience and  expertise to the BTK Programs & Services Committee. Ms. Kovacs is a people focused professional  with experience working in a range of counseling and therapeutic environments. BTK holds a  personal place in her heart because she too suffers from chronic pain. Knowing this pain on a  personal level has led her to dedicating her career to helping others. BTK welcomes her to the  board and is excited to work with someone who can relate to children with chronic pain on a  personal level.
