Boston Center for Adult Education Hosts Special Classes in Honor of the 2016 Presidential Election

  • (1888PressRelease) October 25, 2016 - BOSTON, MA - This fall the Boston Center for Adult Education (BCAE) is hosting series of special programs in celebration of its latest photo exhibit, "Presidential Hopefuls in the 21st Century: Photos That Tell Stories," and this year's presidential election.

    In partnership with the Boston Press Photographers Association (BPPA) and curated by Vin Alabiso, "Presidential Hopefuls in the 21st Century" examines the highs and lows of the road to the White House through the eyes of local press photographers.

    Keeping in theme with the presidential election, The Boston Center for Adult Education is hosting several special programs that reflect on this year's election and those of year's past. On Monday, November 14, 2016 from 6:00PM to 8:00PM, the BCAE will host a lively conversation with Boston Globe Political Editor Shira T. Center called "What Just Happened? Debriefing an Unconventional Election." Center will lead a lively discussion about pivotal moments over the course of the campaign trail, how they impacted the outcome of the race, and what that means for the future of politics in America. A wine and cheese reception that will include a conversation about the future of politics in America will follow.

    The series will continue with "How I Got That Photo," an exciting opportunity to hear from acclaimed photojournalists, Vin Alabiso and Stephan Savoia, on Wednesday, December 7, 2016 from 6:00PM-8:00PM. Alabiso and Savoia will be joined by other acclaimed photojournalists whose work is featured in the BCAE's photo exhibit, as the group discusses the intriguing stories behind the pictures featured. The esteemed guests will tell incredible stories from the campaign trail and how they get inspiration for their pictures. Afterwards an informal wine and cheese reception will follow.

    Each program is $15 and $13 for members. The ongoing photo series is free and open to the public during the BCAE's business hours.
