  • Las Vegas, NV-AZ (1888PressRelease) August 22, 2011 - The Blind Center of Nevada, partnering with the Las Vegas Design Center is hosting a gala at the top of the magnificent World Market Center. The event will be a celebration of the amazing achievements of three spectacular individuals, who have overcome their impairments to reach unbelievable heights.

    Renowned Blind Chef Laura Martinez, from Charlie Trotter's of Chicago, will be assisting in preparing an extraordinary cuisine with the multi-talented chefs from Le Cordon Bleu College of Culinary Arts in Las Vegas. Ms. Martinez, who has been blind since birth, will be honored at the event. The evening's entertainment includes American Idol finalist Scott MacIntyre. Also visually impaired since birth, MacIntyre was the first visually impaired contestant to appear on American Idol. John Katsilometes and Tricia McCrone from radio show, Kats with the Dish, and Paula Francis, CBS Channel 8 Anchor, will serve as masters of ceremony.
