  • (1888PressRelease) January 25, 2012 - As lawyers increase their reliance on mobile computing, they are also creating potential data breaches when exchanging client information over unsecured networks. That's why Biscom, provider of the AmLaw 200's most secure document exchange technology, today announced that it has launched an iPad app for its secure file transfer software.

"Mobile devices are being increasingly adopted by attorneys to collaborate with clients and counsel outside the office," said Charles Magliato, Legal Program Director for Biscom. "However, with this increased flexibility comes the risk of breaching confidential client data and noncompliance with government regulations that cover the exchange of personal information such as social security numbers or medical records. To combat this potential weakness, the Biscom iPad app allows for lawyers and litigation support professionals to securely send, receive and access documents and files."

The Biscom iPad app allows for the same secure and auditable delivery of documents provided by Biscom for the enterprise, but with these additional features for mobile use:

    • Enforced password-protected access to the app with SSL encryption for deliveries.
    • Ability to receive files and documents and download them to local storage on the device.
    • Ability to compose a secure Biscom delivery to multiple recipients that includes notification and secures messages and files that have been downloaded by the application.

The Biscom iPad app is available immediately. Biscom will be demonstrating its iPad app at LegalTech New York, January 30-February 1, booth number 1615.
