  • Denver, CO (1888PressRelease) September 23, 2011 - Birko, a leader in providing food safety solutions to the protein processing, food and beverage industries, has introduced BAT Armor, an environmentally preferable chemical formulation for use on rails to prevent rust.

BAT Armor - or Best Available Technology -- is designed to be sprayed, wiped, or painted full strength onto rails after they have been cleaned. It functions as a rail conditioner to protect steel rails from rusting and also inhibits buildup of oil and grease from the trolleys, making subsequent cleanings easier.

BAT Armor was developed in Birko's research and development lab from ingredients considered generally recognized as safe (GRAS) for incidental food contact.

It is available as a liquid in cases or five-gallon containers.
