  • (1888PressRelease) May 10, 2012 - Brendan Foster, President of Benecor, Inc., will be honored at an awards ceremony during the eighth annual Michigan Celebrates Small Business event, May 3, 2012 in Lansing, Michigan.

Benecor manufactures dispensing pumps and specialty storage systems for Diesel Exhaust Fluid (DEF) with brand names such as UREA® and Aria32®. Benecor serves the largest producers of these fluids in North America, South America, Europe and Asia, including diesel engine on-highway and off-highway truck and automotive OEMs, diesel fueling centers and tank farms.

"We're very excited about making the Michigan 50 list. It's not only an honor to be recognized for the team's hard work, but also what our effort means for growing manufacturing jobs in Michigan," said Brendan Foster, President of Benecor, Inc.

According to Foster, Benecor's growth is driven by these four factors:
    1. Innovative technologies and products - such as DEF pumps with automatic shut-off systems, pumps with twice the flow rate and industry-leading product warranties.

    2. Benecor manufactures, assembles and ships all DEF pumps and systems from its 20,000 sq. ft. factory in Brighton, Mich. - "Many competitors are truly distributors and not manufacturers. Benecor also specializes in only DEF, enabling our customers to find the expertise in this fluid with one phone call."

    3. Customer service and quality - Benecor strives to receive and ship orders on the same day, plus they are able to control all quality aspects of the manufacturing process. "Our customers see us as more of a business partner rather than a supplier."

    4. Early, dominant market share - "DEF is a relatively new industry and we were one of the first seven years ago to map the development of the infrastructure, understand it and capitalize on it." Foster serves on several industry boards and councils (e.g., SAE International, Petroleum Equipment Institute, SCR Stakeholders Group and SAE ISO Committee).

About the Diesel Exhaust Fluid Market
Engine and truck manufacturers have spent tremendous resources developing engines that comply with new emissions standards. Many have adopted Selective Catalytic Reduction (SCR) technology that requires DEF (UREA) as a central operating fluid that virtually eliminates nitrous-oxide (NOx) emissions from diesel engines. In addition to having equipment on a vehicle that provides emissions compliance, it is equally important to have easy access to the fluid required to operate this system.
