  • (1888PressRelease) May 20, 2011 - Benchmark is pleased to announce New Gender-Specific housing for our young adult students. Benchmark will be vacating the current 18-unit apartment complex, which is outdated and in need of extensive updates and repairs, and will relocate students into two separate apartment complexes within the community of Redlands. The move will begin in phases, with men moving in April and May and women moving in June 2011. Both apartment complexes will be fully staffed with Residential Life Coaches on a 24 hour, 7 days per week, awake basis.

The men will be relocating to Citrus Grove Apartments, a lovely complex in North Redlands, located near the University of Redlands campus. All male students, regardless of their level, will live there. Our Independent Living students, (Level III and above) will have separate quarters from the Level I & Level II students. Each apartment has two bedrooms and bathrooms, with 4 men per unit. There will be a Residential Staff Apartment where Resident Life Coaches will be onsite 24/7 and will have the same duties and student living coverage as we have had at our previous apartment complex.

The women will live in another very nice complex, the Redlands Lawn & Tennis Club Apartments, which is a gated community, on the opposite end of town. As with the male students, regardless of their level, they will all be housed in this complex, though the upper phase students will have their own apartment. The Residential Life Coaching staff will also have the same on-site awake duty 24/7, as we do now. The women's apartments are dual master bedroom apartments, thus we will have two women in each bedroom, four women to an apartment.

Both apartment complexes have housed Benchmark students for many years and we have found both management groups eager to work with us in providing housing for Benchmark students. Each complex is on the Redlands bus line and of course, students may find that they will also wish to ride bicycles more often.

For those students who may have automobiles during their enrollment at Benchmark, each apartment will have one space available, but there are other first come, first serve apartments. Each apartment complex has a swimming pool, tennis courts, weight rooms, basketball courts and is very convenient to all grocery stores, entertainment, and work opportunities.
