  • (1888PressRelease) February 05, 2014 - Belle Chevre's goat cheese is now flying internationally. Their classic, handmade artisan chevre has been chosen by Delta Airlines and Chef Linton Hopkins to be included in the new revolutionary BusinessElite menu. Belle Chevre is one of three Southern artisan cheeses chosen to be included on the 'Selection of Southern Cheeses' cheese plate, one of three 'Sweet Delights', which will be flying daily to Paris, London, Amsterdam & Frankfurt.

According to the airline, "This menu is built on a foundation of Southern artisans, farmers and foods." This exquisite menu, which nods to the growing popularity of handmade Southern foods, includes over a dozen fellow Southern artisans. Linton Hopkins is an internationally celebrated chef and with deep southern roots as a fifth generation Atlantan. Hopkins focuses on community-driven cuisine and Southern hospitality. He has received culinary acclaim, including Food & Wine Magazine's "Best New Chefs" in 2009, James Beard Award's "Best Chef - Southeast" in 2012, and Food & Wine Magazine's "Best New Chefs All-Stars" in 2013.

"As a seasoned traveler myself, I have long wanted to see Belle in the air," says Tasia Malakasis, president. "Being chosen by a company like Delta, alongside fellow outstanding artisans, is a true honor."

Belle Chevre has been recognized and applauded by everyone from the American Cheese Society (for excellence in craftsmanship) and the Good Food Awards (for excellence in sustainability) to the Today Show and Oprah Magazine.

With 25 years of cheesemaking experience under their belt, this passionate group of artisans has nearly 100 national awards and is a favorite of the nation's most savvy cheesemongers. Their unique selection of handmade cheeses go far beyond the classic log to include sweet breakfast chevres, cheeses marinated in olive oil and herbs, a chevre cheesecake, and DIY cheese kits.
