Bakersfield Standout Basketball Players at Pangos Jr Camp 2013

  • (1888PressRelease) February 28, 2013 - The Pangos Jr All-American Camp held February 23 - 24 in Redondo Beach, California was hosted by Dinos Trigonis, the man who has had a first look at many of the top NBA players. The invitational only camp attracted the top middle schoolers in the nation. Kids represented from seventeen states and three countries, kids came as far as China to compete and be ranked.

    The weekend started out with some of the best coaches and trainers instructing the players on the points of the game and putting the campers through various drills before they went head to head to see who would be the standout players and be selected for the Cream of the Crop All Star game and be ranked as top 50 or top 25 in the Nation.

    Bakersfield had a strong presence, with nine players representing at the Pangos Jr. Camp. Many of the players are apart of two of Bakersfield top Basketball organizations, Basketball Universe Academy and Bakersfield Elite Basketball. Of those nine player, four players ranked in the top 25 in the Nation. And one ranked top 50 in the Nation.

    - Daniel Viveros, son of Coach Viveros, Tevis Junior High Girls basketball coach.

    - Seth Marantos

    8th grade division Ranked Top 50 in the Nation
    - Justin McCall, son of CSUB Women's Head Coach Greg McCall.

    For the first invitational extended to Bakersfield to the Pangos Jr All American Camp, with over 300 kids in attendance, Bakersfield had some stand out players. Coach Jesse Soto, Director of Bakersfield Elite AAU organization, was on hand both days of the camp to witness the drills, games and ranking of the Bakersfield players.

    ABOUT PANGOS JR CAMP
    The camp attracted the top 6th. 7th and 8th graders from throughout the nation and Canada. The competition was fierce with noted trainers on hand to put campers through an intense array of drills and development work. All participating players were provided an opportunity to improve their skill level and compete against the top athletes from across the country. Primary focus of the camp was to educate and teach middle school players and their parents what it takes to be successful at the next levels.
