  • (1888PressRelease) May 02, 2016 - Sarah Bartholomeusz believes nothing is impossible, even though it may seem like it is.

The Adelaide lawyer, entrepreneur and author of How to Avoid a Fall from Grace: Legal Lessons for Directors is speaking at the Tedx Whitsunday event on Friday, May 13. Her theme is "Possibilizing" a philosophy that enables people to take make something which seems impossible a reality.

"It's about unleashing that creativity within you and ushering the impossible into the realm of possible. We live in age where change is happening quickly. Technology is rapidly advancing and the job market will be completely different in ten years' time. Despite that, we have the ability to make our dreams more than just thoughts."

She points to figures such as Bill Gates, Elon Musk and Nelson Mandela as people who have applied this philosophy in business, politics and life.

The speech also draws on Sarah's own experiences. Two and a half years' ago, at 7 months' pregnant, her in house position was made redundant. Refusing to be defeated, Sarah founded You Legal, a new category of law firm.

Today more than twenty lawyers and professionals work for the company, with clients, from ASX listed companies to private equity owned multinationals, spanning across the country. The company's success last year saw Sarah awarded the Telstra Business Women's Award for South Australia in the Start-Up category.

As Bartholomeusz explains, "There was an opportunity to for me to take this large, seemingly impossible idea I had in my mind and make it work: a top-tier legal concierge service. I have seen a lot of lawyers leave the profession because they struggled to find a work-life balance and here was a solution."

The TEDx event talk will be on 13 May from 9 a.m. - 5 p.m. in the Whitsunday Anglican School, in North Mackay, Queensland. Tickets and registration are required.
