  • (1888PressRelease) November 21, 2012 - MELBOURNE, AUSTRALIA - Local high-end consignment boutique, Red Finch, will add to their business model and expand into the world of online retail when they launch their E-Commerce shop next month, just in time for Christmas spending.

Opening their Eltham shop front in March 2012, Red Finch Boutique has successfully entered into the growing niche market of retail, which sees both customers and consignors as active participants in the consumer process.

While statistics are scarce in Australia, the booming resale industry in the United States has been apparent since the global financial crisis; the Association of Resale Professionals found a seven per cent growth in the number of stores for each of the past two years.

Owner, Sarah Woolway, was inspired to launch the business after her daughter relocated oversees and her two wardrobes full of unworn, worn once designer and top label clothing pieces and accessories were left behind.

"It dawned on me that there was, potentially, a very successful idea here and after researching the growth in the consignment industry and the need for such an outlet in the northeastern suburbs, I have created a stunning boutique with an atmosphere supportive of the most upmarket shopping experience…Some women will be in here for half an hour before they realize they're looking at resale items."

And now Woolway is out to expand her reach to a different consumer demographic as online spending is steadily increasing both nationally and globally.

NAB Online Retail Sales Index reports that there has been a 25 per cent growth rate of domestic online sales in the past year with almost three quarters of those purchases being made with Australian retailers and Woolway is out to capitalise on the trend.

"As well as consigned clothing and accessories, our E-Commerce store will also feature new lines of merchandise including Spencer & Rutherford bags and stunning pieces created by Red Finch Boutique's consigning jewellery designer, Sarah Belle."

With shipping to be available both domestically and internationally, Red Finch Boutique is going global.
