Auction Event Supports Scouting Outreach Efforts

In support of this, the Capitol Area Council is hosting the 2011 Sports Safari Scout Auction on Saturday May 21. Scout supporters will gather at the West Austin Youth Association to participate in live and silent auctions and a Pinewood Derby, all while enjoying a casual dinner with live music from the Carport Cassanovas. Proceeds support Scouting programs across all 15 counties served by the council, with a special emphasis on outreach to families who might not be able to afford to participate in Scouting due to economic hardship.

    Items up for auction include, but are not limited to, a wine cellar dinner, pearl earrings, fly fishing on Cypress Creek, a South African Safari, two elk tags on a private ranch in New Mexico, a "Coyote Special" 380 Ruger, a duck hunt including full accommodations, and a Cypress Valley Preserve quail hunt.
