  • Miami, FL (1888PressRelease) April 13, 2011 - Peretz Chesal & Herrmann, PL (www.pch-iplaw.com), an intellectual property law firm, is proud to announce the addition of attorney Carly A. Hammond to its legal team. She will concentrate her practice in the area of intellectual property litigation.

"We are thrilled to have attorney Carly Hammond join our firm," said Steven Peretz, a founding partner of Peretz Chesal & Herrmann, PL. "Her dedication to the law and her solid background in the area of intellectual property, copyright and trademark infringement make her a valuable asset to our practice."

Prior to joining Peretz Chesal & Herrmann, Ms. Hammond gained five years of experience in intellectual property law at another Miami firm. In addition to copyright and trademark infringement and commercial litigation, she has conducted trademark searches, provided clearance opinions, prosecuted U.S. trademark applications, negotiated settlements, and secured and maintained international trademark registrations with foreign counsel.

Ms. Hammond received her Juris Doctorate from The Ohio State University Moritz College of Law in Columbus, OH, where she received the Dean's Merit Award, 2003-2006, and was consistently recognized for her outstanding leadership, public service and contributions to the College of Law. She received her undergraduate degree from Swarthmore College in Swarthmore, PA, where she graduated with High Honors and majored in Ancient History and minored in Sociology/Anthropology.

To compliment her academic and professional achievements, Ms. Hammond takes great pride in participating in various community activities. In addition to serving on the Board of the Miami-Dade Chapter of the Florida Association for Women Lawyers (FAWL), she has been actively involved with the Dade County Bar Association Young Lawyers Section's Horizons Committee for five years. Members of this public service organization serve as positive role models for underprivileged, at-risk teenage girls in the Miami-Dade community. As a role model, Ms. Hammond mentors teenage girls regarding college level education and financial aid, personal development, resume writing and job interview techniques. The Horizons Committee works in conjunction with Hands 2 Help Passage 2 Womanhood and Urgent, Inc. Rites of Passage, with the goal of placing each student in a summer internship to further develop her skills and talents for a future career.

Peretz Chesal & Herrmann, PL concentrates its practice to intellectual property law cases. In September 2010 U.S. News ranked the firm as a "First Tier" for intellectual property in South Florida and was the only firm from the area to be ranked nationally. All three name partners are Florida Bar Board Certified in IP law, and listed in Best Lawyers of America. Partners Steven Peretz and Michael Chesal have each served as Past Chair of the Florida Bar's IP Law Committee.
