  • Orlando, FL (1888PressRelease) June 05, 2013 - Athlete Connections (www.athleteconnections.com), a company dedicated to assisting current and former student-athletes in finding careers and making the transition from athletics to the workforce, is pleased to announce its partnership with the National Consortium for Academics and Sports (NCAS). This partnership will bring Athlete Connections' career services to more than 258 colleges and universities across the nation, giving student-athletes access to a program designed to help them find professional workplace jobs.

In 1985, the NCAS was established to provide degree completion opportunities to athletes whose eligibility had expired. In exchange, those athletes would go into the community to address social justice issues with youth. Today, the NCAS continues to advocate for social justice issues through its various programs and services. The partnership with Athlete Connections will enhance the services of the NCAS by preparing its members for the transition from college into the workplace.

"As a company comprised of many former student-athletes ourselves, we understand how challenging it can be for them to make that transition into a professional occupation," said Dan Cross, Founder and CEO of Athlete Connections. "We are thrilled to be partnering with NCAS as we look to expand and improve career opportunities for young male and female student-athletes across the nation."

"The goal of the NCAS is to change lives through the power of sport. By partnering with Athlete Connections, we have another great opportunity to do just that," said Richard Lapchick, President and CEO of NCAS. "We look forward to working with Athlete Connections for many years to come!"
