  • (1888PressRelease) November 30, 2012 - HONG KONG - Partnering with elite ice hockey league CIHL for the second straight year, AsiaXPAT has stepped up as the team's title sponsor this season and the Kowloon side is now known as the AsiaXPAT Kowloon Warriors (www.kowloonwarriors.com).

    With over 950,000 visits per month and over 400,000 members across 13 major Asian cities, the AsiaXPAT Kowloon Warriors now have an expanded and growing regional fanbase behind them as they look to hoist the CIHL championship trophy at the end of the 2012-2013 season.

    Following a dominant 2011-2012 season, where the Warriors swept the South China Sharks in the best-of-three CIHL Finals series, the Warriors came into this season as the team to beat. Many of the team's core players returned for the 2012-2013 and ahead of the season opener in October, General Manager Art Tam drafted some key additions, including Devin Welsh, who is part of the CIHL Intern Program and three players from the U18 partnership - Justin Cheng, Just Fan and Jack Woods.

    Heading into the mid-point of the season, the AsiaXPAT Kowloon Warriors are second in the CIHL standings, just three points behind the rival Sharks. With 4-2-1 record, the Warriors will be fighting to reach the top spot and with plenty of hockey still to play, Saturday nights at Mega Ice are not to be missed.

    All games are played at Mega Ice, with a game format of three, 12-minute periods of five-on-five hockey.
