  • (1888PressRelease) June 04, 2015 - The opening ceremony began with the vocal performance made by the students from Natalia Knyazhinskaya's vocal studio.

Then two founders of Dukley European Art Community, Petar Chukovich and Marat Helman, delivered welcome speeches. In addition, on behalf of the third founder, Neil Emilfarb, the representative of Stratex Group and Dukley gardens made a speech.

«It is common to organize special events at the end of the activity, but we, as you see, decided to arrange this event at the very beginning. Today we are talking about the future. It seems to us the moment of glory for Montenegro has come, and we are willing to make our contribution", - said Helman.

"Once people used to look for a dwelling able to shelter them from their enemies, wishing to live in peace. As the time passed they tried to find a place close to trade routes. Eventually, people moved to industrial centers, providing them with job opportunities. When the post-industrial world came, people started looking for gorgeous places with beautiful nature and good ecology, comfortable for their life. And Montenegro is exactly such a place".

According to the Head of Dukley European Art Community, "the culture (namely artists, musicians or people who enrich the world with their creativity) takes a special place in the post-industrial world".

"An ordinary person often encounters art only as a finished product: he comes into a museum and sees a painting or goes to a concert and enjoys a theater performance. However, our Artists House was created to show the people the underlying cultural mechanisms that make it all work. Every person will be able to view the inner workings of culture," - Helman stated.

The Artists' House will host 40 workshops and once a week anyone can come in, see artists at work, and ask any questions that may arise. Starting from June 21, every Sunday is an open house day.

You will also find a number of "art businesses" to create souvenirs, clothes, and other items in collaboration with painters.

In addition, there is an opportunity to visit a rehearsal of a theater troupe or a vocal ensemble. "It could be a great rhyme to the ancient city of Kotor, a factory that forges a new culture", - said Marat Helman.

The founders stated that Dukley Art Residence is an international center. A third of the workshops will be given to the artists from Montenegro another third to the artists from around the world.

After the welcome speech all the visitors were invited to see the exhibition of Dukley resident - Dmitriy Tsvetkov.
