ARS/Rescue Rooter Technician Honored with City of Raleigh Police Department Chief's Citation
Raleigh Police Department honors Shane St. Pierre with a Chief's Citation for his bravery while helping an injured police officer subdue a suspect.
- Raleigh-Durham-Chapel Hill, NC (1888PressRelease) October 19, 2013 - Shane St. Pierre, an ARSŪ / Rescue RooterŪ HVAC technician, received a Chief's Citation from the Raleigh Police Department on Wednesday for his role in helping an injured police officer subdue a combative man.
While on a service call on the morning of July 31, 2013, St. Pierre witnessed several people running out of a local apartment complex building claiming that a man was inside throwing rocks and bricks. Still standing outside the commotion, he saw the man strike the officer with a brick multiple times. When he noticed that the officer was having difficulty subduing the man, St. Pierre immediately sprang into action and aided the injured officer as well as a second officer that arrived on the scene shortly after.
"Shane acted without hesitation to assist the officers in the apprehension of the suspect. His assistance clearly played a role in making it possible to restrain the suspect and limit injuries to all involved, " said Police Chief Cassandra L. Deck-Brown. "I, along with the officers of the Raleigh Police Department, applaud his willingness to take action"
