  • (1888PressRelease) July 12, 2010 - PHOENIX, AZ - "Sheriff Joe Arpaio, national co-chairman of BanAmenstyNow.com, has called B.A.N. America's toughest anti-illegal immigration organization, and this is an opportunity for us to show our strength and our commitment to states that stand up for the law," said McCaffrey.

The National Council of La Raza has petitioned Major League Baseball to cancel Arizona's 2011 MLB All-Star Game and relocate the annual event elsewhere. La Raza and other open-borders, pro-Amnesty groups say Baseball should move the game from Arizona to protest Arizona's new law, SB 1070, which will enforce immigration laws.

"A vast majority of Americans support SB 1070, just as a vast majority of Americans love baseball," McCaffrey said. "When the forces of political insanity try to corrupt our national pastime, the members and supporters of BanAmnestyNow.com step forward without hesitation.

"Led by national co-chairman Sheriff Joe Arpaio, BanAmnestyNow.com is asking all our friends across the nation who to stand with Arizona again by signing the B.A.N. petition to Major League Baseball not cave-in to La Raza and their open-borders allies," McCaffrey continued. "In short, Mr. Selig, don't let the pro-Amnesty crowd take Baseball hostage like the White House has taken hostage border security.

Sheriff Joe Arpaio, national co-chairman of BanAmnestyNow.com said in an email about the petition, "La Raza and their allies in Congress and the White House aren't content to wage war on America in the Main Stream Media and on the Internet. They are now trying to take over Baseball. They are trying to use all their corrupt influences to make America's sport cave-in to their political pressure…Don't let them corrupt Baseball… and don't let them get away with this thuggish behavior!"

SB 1070 was sponsored by B.A.N. national co-chair Senator Russell Pearce and takes effect July 29. To see and/or sign the petition to Major League Baseball to save the 2011 Arizona All-Star game, please visit banamnestynow.com
