Each season, there are a few truly stand-out shows which are not to be missed. One such show will happen August 14, 2011 at the Old Whaling Church in Edgartown.

    The evening opens with the newly formed band 'Julian & Paula', who will be recording live for their new album. Julian is a singer/songwriter whose collaborations and performances appear on Warner Brothers records and TV, Gold Castle Records, Eternity Records, and more. His body of work includes performances with legendary artists including Peter, Paul and Mary, Bob Dylan, and Pete Seeger. He has shared musical evenings, either opening for or creating and jamming with; Richie Havens, Hugh Taylor, James Taylor (at Dogfish Bar & Grill), members of the Grateful Dead (New Gorjes), Liv Taylor, Alex Taylor, Sally Taylor, Ben Taylor, Carly Simon (The Whaling Church), Jonathan Edwards, Marty Balin of Jefferson Starship, John Cipollina of Quick Silver Messenger Service, Michael Kamen, Jojo, The Wailers, Ramblin' Jack Elliott and one of his favorite moments, a live impromptu performance of John Lennon's "Imagine," early Sunday morning, the third day of WoodStock 2.

    Paula Colombier (formerly Paula Hochhalter) is a globally recognized cellist, who was a member of the Los Angeles Chamber Orchestra and has performed in countless motion pictures, television shows, radio programs, well-known concert series and music festivals around the globe (both classical and jazz). Paula has recorded with James Taylor and more recently with Paul McCartney, and is truly a delight on the concert stage. A cellist of great freedom and passion, she has been likened to the late great Jaqueline du Pre, establishing herself as a favorite among world-class chamber music collaborators, and as a soloist.

    Following this impressive opening act will Island favorite Ben Taylor, joined by Arnold McCuller, who has been a featured vocalist with some of the best recording artists around, including Phil Collins and James Taylor.

    Benjamin Taylor's memorable melodies, immaculate acoustic guitar playing and insightful, honest lyrics have been captivating fans since the moment he embarked on his journey. Making music has become as natural as breathing to Taylor. Accordingly, this approach has colored his songwriting to create music that defies genre definitions. Taylor seamlessly merges the sounds and styles of rock, pop, folk and hip-hop. His albums often run the gamut from sonically spacious acoustic numbers to layered vocals, beats and unique samples. His honest music is led by what is often described as his tuneful and expressive voice, the kind of voice that makes its impact with the smallest turn of a whispered phrase.

    Arnold McCuller's rich and distinctive vocals that have captured the hearts and ears of many well-respected musicians and fans. Concert tours include Lyle Lovett, where he was both the opening act and featured vocalist, Phil Collins, Melissa Manchester, Bonnie Raitt and recently duets with Linda Ronstadt and Aaron Neville.
