  • (1888PressRelease) September 09, 2010 - Ira was the visionary, architect and leader of the CEMEX USA Shared Services Organization since its inception 16 years ago.

As an active member of the Shared Services community for many years, Ira's team was the inaugural recipient of the SSON Best Mature Shared Services award in 2003, when it was known as Rinker Shared Services. Most recently, Ira was EVP of Shared Services for CEMEX USA, with responsibility for multi-functional shared services including: Information Technology, Accounting and Finance, Transactional Services, Process Management, Knowledge Management, and, prior to the acquisition of Rinker by CEMEX in 2007, Human Resources.

Ira will also work directly with our members as an expert resource they can call upon at any time for guidance and support.

Regarding his new role, Ira comments, "As someone who has devoted their career to Shared Services, I am excited about the launch of SSON Collaborative Research and the positive impact it will have on my fellow practitioners. SSON Collaborative Research provides a very practical approach for collaboration, best practice research, and benchmarking, with all the noise filtered out. The research areas are both strategic enough for the most senior executives, but also granular enough for team members. It's remarkable that we can now have at our fingertips, the collective knowledge and experience of highly engaged people from world class organizations."

"I'm joining the SSON Collaborative Research team because this is the right evolution of collaborative tools at the right time. What could be more exciting than being part of leveraging the collective experiences of the world's best organizations and watching that translate into measurable value for them?"
