  • Washington, DC-MD-VA-WV (1888PressRelease) March 29, 2014 - Ambassador Caroline Millar oversaw the signing of the Angel Resource Institute's Halo Report partnership with the Australian Association of Angel Investors (AAAI) on Wednesday, March 26, during the ACA International Exchange Workshop in DC. This agreement formalizes the collaboration between ARI, a nonprofit dedicated to angel investing research and education, and AAAI, the sole source of angel investing research in Australia. ARI's Halo Report is a quarterly survey of angel investors that highlights trends in angel investing. AAAI will lead the collection, analysis, and dissemination of the report in Australia.

"As the world is changing and new companies emerging and going global more quickly, angel investors are more important than ever," said Ambassador Caroline Millar during Wednesday's ceremony. "Because of the nature of this industry, it is difficult to capture the true scale of activity and that is why the collaboration between the Australian Association of Angel Investors and the Angel Resource Institute is so important."

By agreeing to work together on the Halo Report, the AAAI and ARI are solidifying the foundation for an expanding global collaboration that will deliver consistent data about angel investing activities internationally. This standardized data will enable investors, policy makers, and entrepreneurs to make meaningful comparisons across national and economic borders.

"This data represents a specific need for our angels," said AAAI Chairman Jordan Green. "It allows our angels to benchmark themselves against each other and against their peers in other countries. The entrepreneurs need access to such data to better inform their knowledge of our angel investors, and to encourage them to reach out to get investment in Australia, and to retain high-growth ventures in Australia."

The AAAI has been an informal partner with ARI for seven years. The organizations have shared educational programs, and in 2009, the AAAI was the first organization outside the USA to be certified by ARI for the delivery of the Ewing Marion Kauffman Foundation's Power of Angel Investing series of seminars and workshops.
