  • (1888PressRelease) April 16, 2009 - “Given the economic climate today, companies absolutely MUST improve the way they test software,” said Patty Sue Williams, President of Telesis. “It is no longer acceptable to deliver software that doesn’t satisfy end-users or doesn’t work, much less doing so over budget and late.”

“Today’s mature testing organizations must be able to clearly state – in business terms and not technical engineering terms – the testing status for business initiatives,” Williams continued. “They must tie initiatives, with details, to specific test cases and quickly understand the business impact of each failed test. BT3 performs those activities for clients. At any given moment during the software development process, BT3 allows anyone, from a C-level executive down to a hands-on tester, to know exactly which parts of the software are working and tested, and what parts are not.” Additionally, the information is expressed in business terms, not programming languages.

Telesis built the BT3 software after conducting an internal one year study, reviewing over 350 client consulting engagements, for both large and small client companies. The study reviewed test process documentation and histories for every single functional and automated software testing engagement. The conclusions clearly dictated the market need for better business testing.

“Our clients actually instigated BT3 V2.4,” emphasized Jason LaForte, BT3’s Lead Architect. “Clients had strong irritations with many existing software testing toolsets, and they demanded a more pragmatic approach to acceptance and regression testing.” The first of their two primary complaints was that the essence of their business requirements constantly got lost in software test engineering. Their second and more impassioned complaint was that they were forced to use engineered testing scripts – which were neither readable nor reusable by business. “Our clients want tools that make it easy to understand when high risk business scenarios are – or are not - being tested successfully. We’re thrilled that with BT3 V2.4 we can quickly provide that information to them in a dashboard format,” declared LaForte.
