  • (1888PressRelease) August 11, 2010 - La Grange Park - The American Nuclear Society (ANS) is holding its 17th annual Utility Working Conference August 8 through 11 at the Amelia Island Plantation, Amelia Island, Florida, Executive Director Jack Tuohy, P.E., announced today. "This year's theme, 'People Achieving Excellence' is abundantly demonstrated by the exceptional panels and workshops that attendees can expect at this year's conference," he said.

    "For people and organizations in the nuclear power industry, this is the most important gathering in the world," he continued. We've got the best panels and talent imaginable this year, all of which recognize the importance of management and knowledge to the success of the industry."

    Panels include "Nuclear Knowledge Management," "People Excel through Executive Example" "Life After 40 - a People or Technology Problem," and Licensed Operator Training Workshops." "These opportunities are designed to help the professionals working in our industry with all aspects of their operations. We recognize that they need to be prepared to face the challenges of the 21st century and the nuclear renaissance, and this sort of information sharing does exactly that," Tuohy continued.

    Over 85 exhibitors from all across the world will also participate in the Vendor Technology Expo. They will support the Working Conference with their displays of technology of all types necessary to nuclear power and services ranging from design to build to regulatory consulting.

    In addition, this year's conference will also be the location of three prestigious industry awards:
