  • Denver, CO (1888PressRelease) October 14, 2011 - Comcast Media Center today announced the addition of AMC Networks and Turner Networks to its Advertising Distribution Network (ADN), bringing the total number of cable channels delivering on-air promotional content to cable operators via the service up to 220. ADN is a web-based platform that delivers broadcast-ready spot advertising directly to cable and broadcast marketing and ad sales departments for editing or playback on local ad insertion systems. ADN is utilized by broadcasters and cable systems, including those operated by 16 of the country's largest cable MSOs.

"The ADN solution for delivering spot advertising to cable headends has resonated with the industry," said Richard Buchanan, CMC's Vice President & General Manager of Content Services. "At any given time, we host more than 2,500 ready-to-air spot commercials uploaded into the system by our programming network and advertising sales clients for use by cable systems and broadcast stations across the continent."

Launched in 2007, Comcast Media Center's Ad Distribution Network (ADN) provides programmers and cable operators with a web-based centralized portal to manage and track promotion and advertisement distribution. ADN's entire spot delivery process is automated including receipt, notification, tracking, previewing, reformatting and delivery. Affiliated users of ADN also include most of the cable MSOs represented by NCC Media, an advertising sales firm which reaches an estimated 98% of all multi- channel homes. In addition, ADN delivers on-air content from the Ad Council for use by local broadcasters and cable system operators.

ADN's cable system affiliates can search and preview the spots and other video assets, including materials that have been customized for particular affiliates. Affiliates can download high-resolution versions of the spots directly from the ADN portal to their local editing suites or directly to their local ad servers. Satellite and tape delivery options are also available. Another feature allows local ad sales departments to download lower resolution files to their portable media devices for use in sales presentations.

ADN also offers a reporting package that allows advertising agency and programming network clients to track downloads of their campaign materials. More information concerning ADN can be found at http://www.comcastmediacenter.com/content-services/ad-distribution-network.html
