MHC saw several outstanding performances on Friday, including Alicyn Roy of 2005. Alicyn finished Reserve Champion in the Alumni Equitation over Fences. As for the Western competition, Emily Murch of 2014 placed third in Alumni Western Horsemanship, and cur-rent MHC IEA head coach Tara Mathews ended sixth place in the Alumni Equitation Over Fences.

Home of the Intercollegiate Horse Shows Association was founded based on the notion that any college student should be able to participate in all horse shows despite any of his or her financial status or riding level. The IHSA promotes learning, sportsmanship, and fun in all that they do. Competition is a key component; however, all of the students' overall enthusiasm, team morale, and love of the sport are major contributors to the association.

The overall objective of the IHSA competition is to offer the opportunity to riders in their initial years of riding along with the more seasoned, show experienced riders. The IHSA makes a point to eliminate expenses of shipping or owning horses so that all competitors can have the opportunity to participate.
