(1888PressRelease) February 18, 2011 - Brewster, NY - SLS Health, now SLS RES, is proud to announce the addition of Mr. Mike Brokaw to the SLS RES team. Mr. Mike Brokaw brings with him several years of experience in the social work field as well as a dedicated comprehensive approach that is shared by the staff at SLS Health. Alfred Bergman, Director of SLS RES, is pleased to welcome Mr. Brokaw to the SLS RES family!

Prior to joining the SLS RES team, Mr. Brokaw has distinguished himself in the U.S. armed forces servicing F-14 fighter aircraft in the U.S. Navy. Before coming to SLS Health team, Mr. Brokaw traveled throughout the U.S. and Asia, supporting high-tempo flight operations from aerial combat training in Key West, Florida to exercises with the South Korean Navy (NROK) aboard the U.S.S Kitty Hawk." After the service, he worked in the wire and cable industry for nearly a decade, where as a service engineer, he worked with clients all over the world to repair, improve and install high-speed packaging machinery. It's with these diverse experiences that Mr. Brokaw discovered that he really enjoyed getting to know his clients and helping them with crisis management and overcome obstacles to their goals, much like the services provided at SLS RES, formerly SLS Health.

Acknowledging that the crisis management, rapport building, and organizational skills that Mr. Brokaw had developed are vital to the human services field, he went back to school for social work, and was then immediately drawn to the highly accredited services provided at SLS RES. "Mr. Brokaw is impressed with the organization's supportive, creative, and comprehensive approach to fostering personal growth and development for both members and the SLS Health staff" explains Alfred Bergman. With his engineering background, he also appreciates SLS Health's software program, Sigmund and how they incorporate behavior tracking and behavioral science techniques like DBT and their SLS Way to monitor progress and treat their members.
