  • New York, NY (1888PressRelease) November 02, 2012 - Aldo Basili, who lives and works in Turin, Italy, pursues the abstract, emotive edge of photography through a combination of his creative eye and his technical skills. A simple photograph, pushed to its limits, reveals its inner potential for elements of Abstraction, Impressionism, Cubism, extreme contrast, and Surrealism. It is this transformation which fascinates Basili; to put it in his own words, "every shot can be transformed through art processing." He seeks to express abstract ideas through the traditionally realistic medium of photography.

Basili explores a whole host of moods, emotions and ideas in his work. His photographs reveal everything from softly blurred figures to harsh electric abstract textures to stark black-and-white silhouettes - and every piece is successful. Basili is a master at his craft, and he takes pride in transforming photographs into art that is meaningful, exciting, and beautiful. His talent was nurtured in an artistic family, and he has exhibited in over one hundred international collective photo exhibitions in eighteen different countries.
