Airheads Trampoline Arena Hosts Winter Dodgeball Competition With $10,000 In Cash & Prizes

Orlando, FL (1888PressRelease) January 23, 2013 - Management at AirHeads Trampoline Arena have announced the newest "Xtreme" sport sweeping the nation - Trampoline Dodgeball - will become even more action-packed this winter as teams compete for $10,000 in cash and prizes.

Trampoline Dodgeball is a variation of the age-old sport played on indoor courts with floors and walls made of trampolines. While the rules are similar to traditional dodgeball, the excitement is enhanced by the use of trampolines, which allow players to jump and dive around balls and throw them at opponents from up to 10 feet in the air. Typically, two teams of five players each face off against each other at a time; each game is four minutes in length or until one team has all its players knocked out. If both teams have players at the end of a game, the match goes into sudden death until the first player is knocked out.

"It is really exciting and the competition is intense," said Rich Heruska, founder of AirHeads Trampoline Arena. "Now that we are offering some significant prize money, I expect more teams to jump into the game."

The winter season Dodgeball tournament starts on Thursday, Jan. 17 and runs through March 28. Competition takes place from 7-9 p.m. and costs $16.95 per player for each week played. Play is a 5-on-5 format and up to 8 on a roster is allowed (age 13+). The $10,000 cash & prizes will split between the three AirHeads locations and the top 10 teams will be awarded as follows: first place = $1,000, second place = $500 and third place = $400.

"All teams who participate receive a custom T-shirt, which players wear as a badge of honor," said Heruska. "This is a sport that is catching on quickly, so I am telling athletes to get in the game now and gain some experience. It's a lot of fun and great exercise!"
