  • (1888PressRelease) January 09, 2014 - Adagold Avation's General Manager Commercial, Jeff Eager, recently spoke with Peter Switzer on Sky Business News about the current state of aircraft charter in Australia.

Adagold Aviation, Australia's largest independent air charter and aviation solutions company is a leading provider of specialised air charter and aviation solutions to a range of sectors including government, corporate, entertainment, mining and resources, cargo and VIP.

Mr Eager explained that the aircraft charter industry has not been greatly affected by the recent downturn in the mining and resources industry.

"There are still plenty of people chartering", said Mr Eager.

"We estimate there are around 40,000-50,000 people currently being moved around the country on charter planes every week"

"Perth Airport has something like 166 planes sitting there every night. So, that gives you an idea of the magnitude."

Due to the nature of the mining and resources sector, air charter is considered a mission critical requirement. The efficient management of aviation services is becoming increasing important to those companies who rely on this highly specialised service.

"The mining and resources sector is all about no-wastage", said Mr Eager. Companies are reviewing their FIFO operations to ensure the best aircraft is being used throughout the project, and that seats are not being wasted.

"That's the key thing here now, efficiencies", said Mr Eager. "Particularly inventory management, and the right aircraft at the right place, at the right time".

Adagold recently released a new product called ACAPS Global, which allows air charter clients to manage easily manage passenger inventory manifests via a secure web based console.

The company has offices in Brisbane and Sydney, and also operates The Brisbane Jet base, Queensland's largest private airport terminal where up to 6,000 FIFO workers fly in and out of each month.

Adagold provides a full range of charter aircraft including corporate jets, regional jets, helicopters, small or large cargo aircraft, high speed turboprops and commercial airliners.
