AGC Hosts Back to School Block Party

  • Winston-Salem, NC (1888PressRelease) September 11, 2010 - To support their community outreach efforts to show love, encouragement, tangible support and the hope of Jesus Christ to underprivileged community members, All God's Children (AGC), a Winston-Salem-based outreach center focused on community outreach, prison ministry, and recovery is hosting a 'Back to School Block Party' Saturday, September 11 at 2001 N East 25th St in Winston-Salem.

    Various local hip-hop artists will be featured in the day's events, which will begin at 1:00pm. jus' will (www.facebook.com/juswill) an upcoming artist, whose first album, "Doctrine of Swag," scheduled to be released Fall 2010 will be one of the many featured artists.

    "We're really excited to have jus' will perform at Saturday's event. He has been a tremendous help with the outreach," says Steven Powell head of AGC. "We have had the opportunity to see him perform before and we are ready to see the impact of the gospel through Saturday's performance".

    "The Back to School Block Party is a great way to spread the truth to a community that, like much of the world, is affected by hip hop culture," says jus' will. "There aren't many opportunities for people to come out and enjoy real hip-hop that's actually talking about something beyond some of the empty concepts presented in much of hip hop, and I'm excited about performing the single, "Get it in," with Nick Jr and Terrance King". "It's going to be a great event," added jus' will.

    The Back to School Block Party will include school supply give aways, free mixtapes and free food. With over five artists scheduled to perform at this year's Back to School Block Party, anticipation is quickly building in and around the Winston-Salem community. This event is the second one hosted in the area. The 'Back to School Block Party' is free of charge and open to the public.
