  • Brunswick, GA (1888PressRelease) July 11, 2018 - R. K. Redding Construction (RKR) received top honors from AGC Georgia, the statewide chapter of The Associated General Contractors of America, Inc. (AGC of America), for its project at Glynn Academy. RKR President & CEO Randall Redding accepted the first place award in its construction group for this project, along with several others awards, during the recent AGC Build Georgia awards ceremony.

“RKR sets out to provide our clients with the highest quality construction project for the best possible value and to do so with honesty, integrity and the highest level of customer service,” said Redding. “The Glynn Academy project was special due to the historical significance of the building. It turned out beautifully and we are thrilled that AGC recognized the work that went into completing this project.”

Located in Brunswick, Ga., Glynn Academy sought to modernize its prep building and add a new band building. The 1906 building was completely gutted, taking everything back down to the joists and exterior walls, then brought up to code and reimagined for today's school children. Restoring this century-old building challenged the project team daily and kept pencils sharp as RKR engineered new solutions on the job site and relied on old-fashioned elbow grease and determination to get the job done on time, within budget and with great quality. The new band building was built next to the existing facility and blended new and old seamlessly.

This was the 11th year in a row that AGC Georgia has recognized RKR with a top award. In addition, the firm also earned first place for the Lutheranch Retreat Center project and a merit award for the Polk County College and Career Academy project.
