  • Miami, FL (1888PressRelease) December 13, 2012 - The Adrienne Arsht Center for the Performing Arts of Miami-Dade County is pleased to announce that two of South Florida's most prominent philanthropists will Chair its 2013 Gala event. Swanee and Paul DiMare will Chair the April 26, 2013 Gala, with the institution's name benefactor and national philanthropist, Adrienne Arsht, serving as Honorary Chair. Fundraising proceeds from the Gala will support the Center's arts education and community outreach programs.

News of the event's Chairs follows the Adrienne Arsht Center's triumphant 2012 Gala event, which featured a special performance by Kevin Costner and his band MODERN WEST and proved to be the institution's most successful fundraiser to date.

"Our signature events have been successful in large part because of the tireless work of our volunteer leadership," said Performing Arts Center Trust Chairman Mike Eidson, who co-chaired last year's gala alongside his wife, Dr. Margaret Eidson. "Swanee and Paul will create a Gala that will be memorable for our patrons and impactful for our community."

The DiMares were among the Adrienne Arsht Center's founding donors. Their philanthropy in Miami-area causes stretch far and wide, including Fairchild Tropical Botanical Garden, the American Red Cross, and the Buoniconti Fund.

"The Adrienne Arsht Center is one of the most important cultural institutions in Miami - and an engine for our city's arts awakening," according to Gala Chair Swanee DiMare. "The Center is proving that the performing arts play a significant role in educating our youth and engaging our diverse community and we look forward to raising the dollars necessary for expanding that mission in 2013 and beyond."
