  • Newark, NJ (1888PressRelease) March 16, 2024 - Adria Goldman Gross, President and CEO at Medwise Insurance Advocacy, is please to announce the upcoming publication of her third book ‘Apparently DIFFERENT.’ ISBN #: 978-1-9772-0051-8.

The book details Adria’s struggle for understanding, acceptance, and compassion while bridging the gap between those “apparently different” due to physical characteristics and those who are “not apparently different,” from whom they would like deeper understanding and better treatment. Ideally, the “apparently different” would be loved, cared for, respected, befriended, and often, admired.

Adria decided to publish ‘Apparently DIFFERENT’ because of the epilepsy challenges she experienced for over two decades, oftentimes dealing with people avoiding her as well as difficulty in forming meaningful relationships. However, after major brain surgery people suddenly became kinder and more interested in forming relationships with her.

Frustrated at this shift in new attitudes, Adria realized that it took a medical procedure for others to treat her differently. This forced Adria to reflect on the broader societal attitudes towards those with health challenges. Hence, Adria decided to share her story with the world through ‘Apparently DIFFERENT.’ She hopes to inspire people to welcome and embrace relationships with individuals who experience challenging medical conditions because everyone deserves respect and admiration. When reading ‘Apparently DIFFERENT’, Adria asks you to “imagine yourself living with their life experiences.”

Adria is a serial author and medical insurance advocate who has written three books. Her most recent, ‘Apparently DIFFERENT,’ details Adria’s struggle for understanding, acceptance and compassion.

She is the President and CEO at MedWise Insurance Advocacy and has over three decades of experience in the insurance and advocacy fields.

Adria brings a unique perspective on the power of empathy, understanding and compassion to all whether or not someone is fine or ‘Apparently DIFFERENT.’

In regards to March, National Disability Awareness Month and April, National Autism Awareness Month, this is a timely and relevant topic.

“Apparently DIFFERENT” will be published in 2024, and will be available for purchase at www.medicalinsuranceadvocacy.com, www.adriagross.com, Barnes and Noble, and Amazon.
