  • (1888PressRelease) August 04, 2010 - Aditya Birla Minacs, a global business solutions company (subsidiary of Aditya Birla Nuvo), today achieved another milestone in its Connect India expansion plans. Strengthening its operations in Eastern India, Minacs today announced the launch of its new delivery centers in Kolkata and Ranchi respectively. Both the facilities were inaugurated by Mr. Navanit Narayan, Chief Service Delivery Officer, IDEA Cellular Ltd.

Speaking at the launch, Mr. Navanit Narayan said, "Yet another step in our growing partnership and engagement with Minacs, the launch of these two centers will help us address the customer and business requirements of Idea in Eastern India. The talent available in both Kolkata and Ranchi along with Minacs' robust Connect India model will further augment our customer service in the region."

Mr. Milind Godbole, President - APAC, Aditya Birla Minacs said, "The launch of these two centers aligns with our strategic effort toward creating business solutions that meet our clients' needs. Emerging as customer acquisition hubs, Kolkata and Ranchi are strategic locations for Minacs' pioneering Connect India model in eastern India. These new state-of-the-art centers will provide our clients a competitive business advantage in the region."

A path-breaking outsourced customer relationship management (CRM) services delivery model providing access to the economically vibrant Indian hinterland, Connect India deploys hubs in tier 1 and 2 cities, which are connected to smaller centers as "spokes" in neighboring tier 3 and 4 towns. This allows Minacs' clients to form a mesh for decentralized but integrated customer services. Connect India addresses the basic need of disaster recovery and business continuity planning in the technical architecture itself and drives the cost of service delivery lower. The objective is to deliver operational efficiency and increased speed of delivery, while catering to different levels of local complexity in the domestic market. Connect India (which Minacs launched in September 2009) currently has operating centers in Bangalore, Mumbai, Chennai, Vadodara and Aurangabad.

Commenting on the hiring plans for the new centers, Milind Godbole says, "We plan to grow the employee base at the Kolkata facility to more than 600 by early next year from the current 425 associates. In the Ranchi facility too, we will have close to 600 employees by mid-next year from the current 115."

The Ranchi center will act as a spoke in the eastern region working with the Kolkata hub. The two centers, focusing on servicing Telecom clients initially, deliver a wide range of services supporting the entire customer lifecycle in a variety of regional languages viz. Hindi, Bengali, Oriya, Assamese and Khasi.

Minacs Telecom Solutions offers end-to-end solutions including inbound and outbound sales, customer service and support, loyalty and retention, contract processing, database-driven marketing amongst other services. Minacs currently serves several Fortune 500 telecom clients globally - including a leading US wireless technology provider, a large global telecom company, and a global broadband service provider.
