Tom Mastro had a highly accomplished career at the Bank of New York which culminated in the position of executive vice president and comptroller. Within two months of graduating from Adelphi University's Robert B. Willumstad School of Business, Thomas Mastro began working as a financial analyst at the Irving Trust Company. He first met his future wife Moira Mastro when he was managing finance at Irving and Moira was responsible for coordinating a variety of reports and filings in the bank holding company. While their paths first crossed at Irving in 1985, it wasn't until years later that their relationship developed into something more. In 1989-the year Irving Trust merged with the Bank of New York-Tom and Moira were married.

Moira Mastro, currently a clinical social worker, worked for a number of companies in the corporate world before settling with her current line of work. She started her career as a caseworker, right after she graduated from college. Later her career progressed into investment banking industry, where she was named a vice president at Lehman Brothers Holdings Inc. She decided to pursue her passion in social work after staying home for a several years to raise her children. Today, as a clinical social worker, she focuses in assisting people in examining the use of alcohol and other substances, and how it may negatively impact their daily activities and their relationships at home or at work.
