  • New York, NY (1888PressRelease) October 17, 2013 - Under the direction of Music Program Coordinator Michael Hume, the students from Adelphi University's Departments of Music and Theatre will be back again with the Best of Broadway: Anniversaries. The program celebrates the 100th, 75th, 50th and 25th anniversaries of musicals including songs from Sweethearts, The Boys from Syracuse, 110 in the Shade and Phantom of the Opera. The shows take place on Saturday, October 19 at 8:00 p.m. and Sunday, October 20 at 3:00 p.m. in the Concert Hall in the Adelphi University Performing Arts Center (AUPAC) located at 1 South Avenue, Garden City, NY.

The biennial concert, which started in 1997 as Michael Hume's initiative, has been an audience-favorite every semester. Joining the cast will be Adelphi alumnus, Corrado Alicata, who will sing the haunting music composed by Andrew Lloyd Webber for the title role in Phantom of the Opera. Mr. Alicata appeared regularly in Adelphi's Best of Broadway from 2007 to 2011 in addition to many productions by the Department of Theatre.
