  • Seattle-Bellevue-Everett, WA (1888PressRelease) July 29, 2025 - Adaptive Biotechnologies, a proud supporter of Gift of Life Marrow Registry, is hosting a special donor recruitment event on Friday, July 25, from 2 – 5 p.m. at their offices at 1551 Eastlake Ave E., Agora Conference Room, in Seattle, Wash. The drive is being held to help expand the registry and increase the chances of finding matches for patients battling blood cancers and other inherited immune disorders. This event is being supported by the Pacific Northwest biotech community and is open to anyone 18 years and older in the Seattle area who wants a chance to save a life.

Those unable to attend in person may request a cheek swab kit to be delivered to their home by visiting giftoflife.org/swab.

Each year, thousands of patients need a stem cell or marrow transplant in order to survive, yet 70% of patients must rely on an unrelated donor for their treatment. Donor recruitment drives like this are crucial to increasing the registry and providing more patients with a second chance at life.

This event celebrates the 30th anniversary of the lifesaving transplant that sparked the founding of Gift of Life Marrow Registry. Jay Feinberg, Founder and CEO, is living proof of the impact one person can have by joining the registry. More than three decades ago, he received a marrow transplant from his matching donor at the Fred Hutch Cancer Center after a years-long search. After his recovery, Feinberg established Gift of Life to grow and diversify the registry, to ensure that every patient has a better chance of finding a donor. Today, the organization has recruited more than 500,000 donors and saved over 5,800 lives.

Julia Rubinstein, President of Adaptive Biotechnologies and Board Member of Gift of Life Marrow Registry, will be available for interviews. Rubinstein’s personal connection to the cause is profound—her stem cell donation enabled a lifesaving third transplant for her father during his battle with myelofibrosis.

    About Adaptive Biotechnologies
Adaptive Biotechnologies (“we” or “our”) is a commercial-stage biotechnology company focused on harnessing the inherent biology of the adaptive immune system to transform the diagnosis and treatment of disease. We believe the adaptive immune system is nature’s most finely tuned diagnostic and therapeutic for most diseases, but the inability to decode it has prevented the medical community from fully leveraging its capabilities. Our proprietary immune medicine platform reveals and translates the massive genetics of the adaptive immune system with scale, precision and speed. We apply our platform to partner with biopharmaceutical companies, inform drug development, and develop clinical diagnostics across our two business segments: Minimal Residual Disease (MRD) and Immune Medicine. Our commercial products and clinical pipeline enable the diagnosis, monitoring, and treatment of diseases such as cancer and autoimmune disorders. Our goal is to develop and commercialize immune-driven clinical products tailored to each individual patient.
